Having been a teacher for over three decades I’ve identified the shortcomings in how we deliver literacy education to students with learning differences.
Starting from a science background (BSc), my experience as a teacher led to further education including a Graduate Certificate in Inclusive Education (focused on Dyslexia) and a Certificate in Multisensory Structured Language (MSL).
I am now a 4th year accredited Associate Member of the Australian Dyslexia Association.
I have worked as a Structured Literacy Intervention Specialist at Rosetta Primary for the past 5 years. I have worked largely with students in grades 4 to 6. The success of the school wide Structured Literacy implementation is reflected in the improved results shown at the end of 2023.
I am able to plan for students at varying stages of development in literacy and set goals to further their skill development.
